Tatul
Near the village of Tatul lies an ancient sanctuary, which according to legends is the tomb of Orpheus – the famous singer of antiquity.
The Legend
It is said that the spirit of Orpheus still lives here among the rocks. When the wind passes through the crevices, you can hear his sorrowful song for Eurydice.
The locals believe the place has strong energy and magical power that guards the ancient secrets of the Rhodopes. Priests of antiquity performed rituals here to connect with the afterlife.
According to tradition, anyone who comes with a pure heart and quietly asks for wisdom will receive a sign from the spirit of the great singer.
